Another journey into hell
The good news: The election losses to the left weren’t exactly in conservative strongholds. A Democrat or socialist winning an election in New Jersey, Virginia, and New York is pretty standard. What’s troubling — particularly in New York’s case — is not who won but specifically, the fact that there are lots of people willing to once again take the plunge into varieties of communist statism. The initial result will appear harmless. The better part of a year will see the communist mayor’s pet projects looking relatively positive. Of course the media will cover for him as well. Over time, the reality of a punitive statist system will creep into daily life. This has already been the case as a city full of disorder and crime collapses further and faster into the socialist abyss. The tax-supported grocery stores and free buses will eventually begin that decline seen everywhere in places like Cuba and Venezuela. By then, those who have created wealth and a tax base will have already gone and America’s most prominent city will be in ruin.
Some people never learn.
